  • What is your starting position physically/ psychologically?
  • What opportunities exist as a result of this injury?
  • What are the challenges that we need to be prepared for?
  • Developing your rehab plan. How does it fit into your current life set up?
  • Discuss and determine which experts/ advisors should be involved over the rehabilitation journey, and at what stage you may need their advice
  • Provide clarity around the whole rehabilitation process, and what to expect at different stages along the journey
Coaching Module 2 - Behaviour change techniques & building habits
  • Program reflection (what’s working well. what challenges exist)
  • Discover how to build new habits
  • Develop strategies to break old maladaptive habits
  • Use neuroscience principles to develop robust behaviour change strategies (any behaviour that you want to change in your training/ life)
Coaching Module 3 - Recovery science and sleep optimisation

  • Discover the latest science outlining the critical role of sleep in our daily lives and maximising our healthspan
  • Develop strategies to improve sleep quality and/or quantity
  • Establish strong and effective sleep routines to improve your training and daily energy output
  • Develop the most effective ways to use caffeine as a mood/ daily performance enhancer
  • Discover new and novel ways to improve daily energy, and understand how to increase daily, weekly, monthly energy through scientific and effective recovery strategies
Coaching Module 4 - Intelligent training load monitoring

  • Detailed analysis of current training loads, with respect to training age and past loads
  • Expert advice on how to manage all the inputs into your training/ life to maximise performance outcomes and energy
  • If you are struggling with injury, or consistent soreness- we deep dive into your past load management strategies to help prevent injury and overload
  • Develop a short, medium, and long-term load management plan based on your performance or health goals

Coaching Module 9 - High performance training advice
  • Discuss any high-performance challenges you have right now or in the past
  • Develop or design strategies to embed new high-performance principles into your daily life moving forward
  • Understand how combining high-performance strategies can have a multiplier effect on your performance and/or daily productivity

Dr Bianca Scotney

Sports physician specialist

Bianca completed her medical degree in 2001 at the University of Melbourne. She commenced training in General Surgery before deciding on a career in Sport and Exercise Medicine, which has led to a very rewarding role in caring for patients at all levels of physical activity over the past 13 years. Her previous work with elite athletes and teams has seen her head up major national and international sporting events. Bianca recently retired from 7 seasons as a men’s AFL team doctor to spend more weekends with her own family. She continues in her role on the AFL Doctors Association Executive and providing match day coverage for interstate teams. Bianca is a highly experienced sports medicine consultant and an exciting addition to the MP Sports Physicians team.

Dr Jason Chan

Doctor

Graduated in 1994 at the University of Melbourne. Jason has pursued his interests in sports medicine and orthopaedics for the past 25 years. The Chief Medical Officer for the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club for the past 9 years, Dr Chan has been involved with AFL/VFL/community football, international soccer, Melbourne Rebels and Queensland State of Origin rugby. Founder of Surgical Assistants Group of Victoria, Dr Chan has extensive orthopaedic experience and access to surgeons who are adept at sports issues. A father of 5 and grandfather to 2, when not attending match day with the Storm, he can be found watching his kids playing sports and jogging around the MCG.
